We are thrilled to announce that we have been asked to create a show as one of the flagship events for Bath Fringe Festivals Spiegeltent venue. A Spiegeltent is a beautiful pavilion made of mahogany, glass and mirrors which originates from Europe at the turn of the last century. We thoroughly recommend an excursion to Bath for this wonderful experience.

DJ LlloydiTron (WONKY) will be rocking the light up dance floor in the Ballroom

About The Mauretania Lounge
The Mauretania is one of Bristol’s best kept secrets. The stunning interiors are from the Mauretania Ocean liner, the biggest, fastest and most opulent of her time. When she was scrapped in 1935 her wood paneled walls of the stateroom and glazed glass domed ceiling from the library were rescued by a Bristol wine merchant and installed in what became the Mauretania Club.

Because of the layout of the Mauretania it’s not possible to have as big a stage show as at other Hoochie Coochie’s, and this event is more about interactive entertainment and other goings on than previous Hoochie Coochie events. However the new format went down a storm at our pilot “Sunday Social” so we think you will love it too. Here’s the feedback we got

Bank holiday weekend starts early this year. After the roaring success of last years Wonderland Ball, this year we go bigger and better at the stunning Rehab with an evening of wondrous and surreal entertainment.

Bongo Bolero – Unmissable international acrobatics spectacle – exquisitely beautiful and uproariously funny.
Sapphira – Haunting moth eaten magic box ballerina performs contortion and spinning aerial hoop
Anaspitos – Stunning crystal ball circus artist. He travels around like a bubble on the wind, a melancholic man of mystery, magic and madness.
Miss Alexandra Hofgartner – Beautiful, visually poetic performance art.

The Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair is this Sunday, 10th March from 10am to 4.00 pm at Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens.

Sunday Social is spread over five lavish rooms of the Mauritania rooms in Bristol city center.

The Members Room – Rock N Roll Bingo and Pole Dance Unicorn
The Front Bar – 80’s Karaoke
The Games Room and The Snug – Twister, Jenga, Connect Four, card games, show boys and showgirls
The Ballroom – DJ LloyiTron (wonky) and stage shows

Stage shows include cabaret luminary Audacity Chutzpah, really great really crap tribute act Fanny Fontaine and belly dance star Natty Bom Batty

Two for one cocktails all night are back by popular demand! And yes there really is a light up dance floor

Dress Code: OTT and dress to impress, glamor, glitter, evening, flamboyant. We don’t really mind what you wear so long as you make an effort. It’s not compulsory to dress up, but if you didn’t you will probably wish you did!

Sunday Social has less emphasis on the stage shows than traditional Hoochie Coochie’s and more focus on interactive games in the decadent surroundings

Hoochie Coochie curated shows for the main room which included the wonderful dancing sperm, world pole dance champ Bendy Kate and the Bureau of Random Acts R&B booty shaking chimps.

In the Summer we went on the road when we had our own venue at Boomtown Fair festival and also curated for Bestival’s Grand Palace of Entertainment.

We also had some really exciting editions to our cast and new performers who joined us this year include the totally amazing host Clayton Wright, Pole Unicorn Tabitha Tease, super cute clown acrobats Seeing Double, Fanny Fontaine, Miss Merlin, Origami Doll Circus’s “Squares”, world class juggler Rod Laver and the really quite incredible Abagail Collins who wowed audiences with country and western rapping hula act (C-Rap)- well you probably had to be there to appreciate that one, but those that were certinly did as she really bought the house down.

So we thought it fitting to make a show reel of some of our favourite moments. Please do feel free to share it so the world can see what Hoochie Coochie looks like.

So for Just Jack’s Halloween Freak Boutique event we curated an “Pleasure Dome” area of weird wonderfulness that included a live art “earth installation” – so that’s actually soil rather than as in planet earth. Revellers saw a sustained performance where performance artist China Blue Fish wore an Victorian night dress and covered herself in the stuff. Other performers were the Enchanting Squares, adorable clown acrobats Seeing Double, Rowan Fae and Abagail Nenuphar.

Just Jack pull out all the stops to create really special events, and to prove it they have just won DJ Magazine’s best UK club night award. Well done Just Jack

The evening will encompass not just the Old Firestation that some of you may have visited in its previous incarnation, but also the strikingly atmospheric Old Crown Courts, The Courtyard area outside, The Police Station and the creepy Police Cells underneath.

Bringing three incredible rarely used venues together on one ticket, for one night only, on New Years Eve.

Hoochie Coochie’s Valentines Ball is to take place in what is undoubtedly Bristol’s most beautiful venue, the stunning newly opened Rehab on Corn Street.

Stage Show
The spectacular stage show features world pole dance champion Bendy Kate, gentleman juggler Matt Pang, cabaret Luminary Audacity Chutzpah and The Art Tart. Show hosted by Clayton Wright AKA Dave the Unicorn.

VIP Mezzanine
The VIP mezzanine is the perfect place to take in the stunning architecture (and partygoers) and here you will find the Glorious Oyster Company serving  artisan oysters. Open to all because we area all VIPs!

Complimentary Cava Reception!
All guests will be greeted with a complimentary cava on reception. And Rehab are so happy about them us joining them, that they are offering two for one cocktails for the first hour!

Other delights include fire shows, wandering artists and do look out for the Copazou girls with their hand made ice cream.

Dress Code
Glamorpuss! So yes you really can go as the glamor or the cat! Big cats, wild cats or alley cats. Or glamour dahling. Dress to impress, Hoochie Coochie is always a flamboyant and decadent affair. It’s not compulsory at all to dress up at Hoochie Coochie but if you don’t you will probably wish you did.

Alana Ashley – Available on the night will be amazing creative makeup artist Alana Ashley – Alana is a irst class face/body painter, vintage hair makeup artist and more who will be offering bespoke feline face paint.
